We engaged Yan Quesnel to sell our property at 167C Parkes Line Road, Maymorn, Upper Hutt on the recommendation of two previous clients of his. We knew that the property would be difficult to sell as it was subject to two separate plans developed by the Greater Wellington Regional Council and the Upper Hutt City Council. This difficulty was compounded by a significant downturn in the Upper Hutt real estate sales market at the time. Throughout the sales period Yan tried every real estate sales process from tenders, deadline sales, auctions, buyer enquiries to priced listings. He left no stone unturned and he personally undertook numerous Open Homes, including throughout two very wet winters. Many a time we would see him waiting in his car in pouring rain and strong winds for that one elusive buyer to show up. Yan remained positive throughout and supported us through a number of depressing times when we would go several weeks without a buyer enquiry. During this time Yan encouraged us with his saying of “someone will come and see this property for the first time one day. It only takes one person”. Throughout the sales process we received four offers which Yan handled magnificently. He knew the serious buyers from the dreamers, but always treated everyone with respect and support. Yan’s knowledge of the real estate market, built up from his long association with the Hutt Valley was second to none. At no time did we seriously consider changing agents as we felt that Yan’s support couldn’t be bettered by any other agent.
