      Our Vendors purchased 83 Te Kawa Road in 1996. Over the years they have improved fertility and infrastructure, increased production from 67,000 kg/ms to 161,000 kg/ms and expanded the area from 107ha to 117ha.
      Farm production is currently matching the record 15/16 season production of 161,000kg/ms.
      Young stock leave the farm at weaning, returning prior to their first calving.
      A new 36 aside herringbone cowshed was built in 2002 with Waikato milking plant, a 360 cow round yard and a double backing gate.
      The farm has a mix of contours and soils. 78ha of flat to rolling is Maeroa ash over loam while the lower flats, (11ha) are Puniu silt, and the hills, Maeroa ash over Hamilton clay (27ha).
      Twenty years of regular lime and optimal fertiliser applications has produced a highly fertile farm. There is an effluent pond with approximately 90 day capacity. Over the years the water reticulation system has been upgraded. It is now a closed loop with water pumped from the two bores to manicons near the cowshed. From there it is pumped to a 25,000 litre manicon on the highest point supplying troughs on the way. Pressure reducing valves are strategically placed on water lines to maintain even pressure within the system.
      Most of the permanent fencing is 5 wire, 4 of which are electrified with strategically placed switches.
      Since 2010 the farm has been well managed by contract milkers or lower order sharemilkers, allowing the current owners to travel. There are 2 very tidy dwellings and also a self contained unit.
