Sydney Real Estate Owners Encouraged to Plant Trees
It's no secret that a little bit of greenery can brighten up any property, and whether you are looking to sell real estate in Sydney or simply spruce up your own living space, a new grant from the local authority can help you plant a tree to be proud of.
On May 18, the City of Sydney will host an information session where local homeowners can learn more about the Tree Planting Matching Grant, which offers residents access to funding so they can make their green dreams a reality.
The workshop, which will be held from 10:00 until 12:00 Sydney time at The Grounds in Alexandria, will walk Sydney homeowners through the process of applying for the grant. Horticulture experts will also be onhand to help residents choose the right trees for their property and offer tips and advice on how to look after green spaces.
As part of the city's goal to increase its green canopy by 50 per cent by 2030, a number of Sydney suburbs will be targeted as part of this initiative, including Pyrmont, Alexandria, Beaconsfield, Darlinghurst and Rosebery.
In Sydney, the winter months are considered the best time for tree planting for a number of reasons – it's easier on the tree, and the milder weather makes the process more pleasant for homeowners too.
