Shelley has worked in the real estate industry for the past nine years, honing her skills as a senior accredited property manager and a leasing consultant. Her attention to detail, professionalism and absolute passion for the industry are qualities admired by her peers and clients. Shelley has previously worked in the banking and insurance industries as well as running her own beauty and health business for 15 years. Together with her husband, they currently own and operate a successful business in the hospitality sector. Having rental properties of their own, she is also fully aware of the issues facing landlords and the peace of mind that comes with having the right property management in place. Shelley has completed the NZQA Residential Property Management Certificate - Level 4 and is a member of REINZ, accredited residential property management.
When she is not busy working Shelley loves spending time with her three wonderful daughters, her extended family and friends.

I have owned rental properties in Christchurch since 1999. In that time I have had several property managers to manage the properties. On a continuum they have been very varied. Shelley is without a doubt the most competent manager I have had. I lived in the Pacific and Shelley managed my properties, but on return I have kept the properties with her and even moved companies to follow her when she began her own rental management company. To who it may concern, I am a property investor with 14 properties located throughout New Zealand. I have all of my properties managed from a variety of different property manager services. I have 5 properties in Christchurch managed by Shelley Scott from Shelleys Property Management Trading as Next Step Realty Ltd. I find Shelly’s service to be second to none and quite frankly she would be the best property manager I have worked with over the years. Here are the reasons why I say this. 1: Communication. There is never a month that goes by without a personal phone call from Shelly to discuss the property and any issues that are on the horizon. 2: Strong Management: Shelly is well respected by the tenants and Shelly deals fairly and quickly with the tenants. She is straight up with the tenants and does not suffer delays in rent payments and ensuring the properties are kept in tip top shape. 3: Proactive. With property inspections, Shelly looks for more than the obvious signs of issues and keeps me well informed of potential future maintenance issues that will need to be addressed. 4: Health and Safety: Shelly is always keen to ensure the properties and meeting the current health and safety requirements and has the contacts to get any job done no matter how small. As an out of town investor, I have to place complete trust in my property manager and Shelly does this on a consistent basis. If I am to further invest in rental property in Christchurch I would not hesitate to entrust her with my properties. Shelly is fully aware of the current market conditions and rent values which we speak about on a regular basis.
