Originally from Christchurch, Paul and his family came to Auckland in 2002, knowing very little about the “Auckland” property market. With no pre-set prejudices he initially purchased in Northcote on the North Shore and enjoyed the value for money this suburb offered & its access to the city.
Being a keen weekend walker, he explored many AKL suburbs over the first few years & it didn’t take long to recognise he was establishing some favourites.
Greater Ponsonby has subsequently become home to the Grace family and he really can’t imagine wanting to live anywhere else. The “village feel” of suburbs such as Ponsonby, Grey Lynn and Herne Bay are major draw cards and of course the convenience of the city on your door step, is second to none.
Paul’s background is in finance and adult learning. He has always been customer facing “selling something”. His last role was Sales Manager for a major car franchisor, where negotiating bulk buys with franchisees whilst delivering a class leading experience became a daily occurrence. Prior to that he specialised in Key Account Management, building strong relationships with some of NZ’s largest & most demanding companies. Delivering quality service in a competitive marketplace kept him on his toes and something he thrived at.
It’s his goal focused approach with an eye for detail and sincere love of people that has held him in good steed. Inner city residential real estate was a logical step in the evolution of Paul’s career.
Apart from Paul’s personal interest in inner city living, he also has an eye for design, architecture and gardens (his Northcote home was in the magazine ‘NZ Gardner’). Working with clients to identify their properties key attributes and how to play to its strengths are all important facets of Paul’s focus. However the biggest focus will be on you. Whether buying or selling, people buy from people they trust and have confidence in.
