Brisbane property duo join forces again
BRISBANE’S property big guns Matt Lancashire and Haesley Cush make business look like a buddy movie.
The likeable dynamic duo, pictured above, who have been friends for 30 years are at the top of their game in the Brisbane property scene but craving more.
The pair who have a huge capacity for work have always maintained ritual of ‘family dinner’ with their wives and children together every Sunday night.
“We have always worked hard but we love our families dearly. So for us, this merger is a bit like getting the boy band back together,” said 39-year-old Mr Cush, who originally owned Ray White New Farm in 2005 and then sold it to Mr Lancashire in 2012.
Five years, five children, 1500 listings and 1000 property managements later, they are going back into business together.
In the five years since Mr Lancashire has owned Ray White New Farm he doubled the sales business to $400 million, while Mr Cush started Living Here Cush Partners focusing on property management and became a national trainer for Australia’s biggest property group, the Ray White Group.
But together the ambitious pair aim to double their joint revenue in the next three years.
“We are on an aggressive growth path. We will have 10 offices in the next 10 years,” the duo said.
“We are not going to be shy about our plan, we will attract the best agents and win more work than any other agency in Brisbane. We have the skills, the contacts and the confidence to take our business to the next level. We have a road map, a plan and the support of the Ray White Group.”
The duo’s bold goal is to have 10,000 properties under management by 2028, 10 offices and 100+ high performing sales agents working with them.
Ray White Group director Dan White said the Brisbane market had grown strongly in the past five years but was showing no real sign of easing.
“Brisbane has all the right ingredients for continued growth as it’s still considered affordable by southern standards and it has an enviable and liveable lifestyle.
“Many of the strongest businesses in our group are multi-offices, it’s a proven plan for success. Like many of our members, Matt and Haesley are held close to the heart of my family, and we wish them well.”
Ray White Queensland CEO Tony Warland supports their plan for a new multi-layered one- stop shop for buyers and sellers in Brisbane.
“Haesley and Matt are a winning combination. They are not shy of hard work and know how to market all properties in all price points. I love their energy and enthusiasm.
”We are a group that understands growth is the oxygen for a company like ours.”
Both attended St Laurence’s College and found themselves in real estate after school.
Last time they were in business together, the New Farm office climbed to the number three Ray White office in Queensland, positioned only behind multi location businesses Bulimba / Morningside and the powerful Surfers Paradise Group.
Matt Lancashire is widely regarded as one of the country’s best salespeople and marketer, and he has sold more than $100 million personally this financial year.
“The merger of these two businesses will surprise many outsiders but unlikely to be greeted with anything more than a warm hug by the industry. The reason for the merger is to create a multiple office network within the Ray White Group,” Mr Cush said.
“We both have an extremely tight relationship with the White Family and believe that partnering with the Whites, while driving our own businesses will be able to offer our clients and staff the support and exposure unable to be offered by any other real estate group”
Staff who work for Matt Lancashire and Haesley Cush can expect to receive weekly mentoring, in house training, coaching, monthly awards, quarterly strategy meetings and annual retreats.
